The relations with the countries of Eastern Europe are important for the security of the European Union, Chancellor Merkel announced during the Eastern Partnership Summit, Deutsche Welle informed. According to her, the EU has working agreements with Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova. She underlined that similar agreements are envisaged to sign with Azerbaijan and Armenia which will not lead to fundamental changes. “In these countries the relations with Russia play a central role,” Chancellor Merkel said.
