A group of public personalities of Armenia and Artsakh condemn the readiness of the authorities to hand territories. They demand rewording the principles adopted in the process of negotiations, A1+ informed.

A declaration has been adopted that concludes the meeting.

The 16 July 2016 declaration adopted in Shushi states: “Having deep concerns about the recent, especially the possible developments relating to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, we agree on the following and express our commitment to take action and to bring into being the provisions below.

It is absolutely unacceptable to cede or hand, for any reason, excuse, purpose or way, any territory laid down in the Constitution of Artsakh, controlled by the Armenian armed forces as of 1 April 2016, to another country, force or organization, as well as to carry out a campaign for that purpose. Such an act will be deemed of as a state crime and those guilty will be subject to adequate responsibility. We consider unacceptable the principles “territory for status”, “territory for peace” or “territory for more stability”. We believe it is appropriate and highly necessary to revise the basis, framework and principles of the negotiations, as well as to launch new and refreshed negotiations.

The document is open for everyone willing to join it.”
