Moscow Needs Armenian Victims in Syria

    • Politics - Thursday, 26 July 2012, 11:23

Armenian Syrians are sure that the Armenian authorities ignore them and provide no official support because of Russia.

The fight between the opposition and the government of Syria makes the Armenians living there migrate to Armenia.

The Armenian authorities have not provided any official support to this process and shelter to migrants.

Armenian Syrians face a number of issues when trying to reach Armenia, includingthe fact that the Armenian national carrier Armavia has raised the ticket prices and the indifference of state bodies. In this regard the Armenians of Syria issued an open letter which particularly runs that Russia has forced the Armenian authorities to make the Armenians of Syria support the president of Syria, while they are devoted to Syria and the people of Syria.

According to the open letter, various delegates of Russia who have recently visited Armenia force the Armenian president to fulfill its orders and misinform the Armenian society. In order to help their compatriots in Syria, the Armenian people need to be against the international intervention to remove the Syrian dictator. For this intervention of Europe, Russia needs victims, which it wants to ensure through the Armenian authorities sacrificing the Armenian Syrians, the letter holds.

The Armenian Syrians call on those concerned for the fate of the Armenian Syrians to gather in front of the Academy of Sciences to undertake steps and measures to help them.

The Ministry of Diaspora told Medialab the minister is in daily contact with the Armenian Syrians who assure her it is not necessary to visit Syria because it is dangerous.

Political scientist Armen Badalyan says Armenia needs to help its compatriots creating favorable conditions for them, but it is not necessary to show more active intervention though the acting president of Syria treats the Armenian community very good.
