EU Suggests Illegal Migrants Return

John Kjaer, DG RELEX Head of Unit of Bilateral Eastern Partnership, stated in the 3rd meetin gof the JFS subcommittee in Yerevan effective prevention of illegal migration is an important component to safe EU-Armenia mobility.

It is very important to set up satisfactory organizations and we suggest that illegal migrants return to Armenia, he said.

John Kjaer noted that mobility requires a safe environment which remains one of the key issues of Eastern Partnership. He underscored signing of visa facilitation and readmission agreements which must be the primary steps.

John Kjaer reiterated EU support to efforts for successful reforms and institutional development.
