Who Will Decide Armenia’s Future?

    • Interview - Wednesday, 08 August 2012, 10:51

Lragir.am held an interview with candidate of historical sciences Hovhannes Hovhannisyan about the civil society activities in Armenia.

In his interview, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan in particular said that it is time fresh and active youth forces which have many ideas and much force and are able to formulate their agenda come out of the chain of power-opposition disagreements as well as from the chain of ’88 leaders. They should try to find their place in the political field since we have been around the same people for already 20 years. It is time a new group of leaders to be formed, like it happened in 1988. They exist, they just need some motivation to become leaders for the future Armenia. Today, if some youths leave those circles, they are immediately labeled as conspirators. On the other hand, serious resources are necessary for a successful movement and changes, including financial, information resources, which our young people don’t have today. It is very difficult to do something in today’s political field, so many are marginalized but I’m sure the future of Armenia will be decided by the clean-fingered and incorruptible youths, who have never been in the dirty games of the power (by saying youth I don’t mean any age limits), said Hovhannes Hovhannisyan.
