Total Crime Rate Dropped

In the first quarter of 2012, the rate of crimes committed in the republic dropped by 10.7% compared with the same period last year (8465 cases in 2011 and 7560 cases in 2012). The number of crimes per 10,000 citizens is 232 against 260 in 2011. The rate of crime is high only in Yerevan (347), the lowest rate is in Aragatsotn (132).

The rate of murders is 28, the same as in 2011.
