Revolution Hasn't Succeeded Yet

Revolution in the ARF has not succeeded despite expectations. The congress of the party in the glorious town of Vanadzor, far from public attention, successfully elected a Supreme Body (for Armenia), demonstrated that the party has everything under control, as a member of the party close to the current party leadership puts it.

Only one oppositionist appeared in this congress. It should be noted that the interparty opposition could not succeed because of bad organization, lack of coordination among different groups and tacit observing by Diaspora fellows. Unfortunately, a lot of members of the party owe to their leadership for their personal welfare or something in the affinity of welfare.

It is also noted that the Armenians, at least those based in Armenia, were not interested in these party-related developments, which is highly significant. This is not a tragedy, it is a comedy rather. The impression is that the party leadership tried to isolate the opposition not only with the purpose of successful conduct of the party congress but also revealing dissidents in the party and blocking them.

In fact, the party leadership has intentionally conducted a policy of splitting the party. The participants of the opposition are apparently growing more dangerous and unwanted for the comfortable existence of the party “elite”. It is absolutely clear that after this event the number of members of the party has shrunk, and this tendency may continue.

Apparently, it will not be possible to call the next election meeting because there is no formal quorum of Bureau members which is absurd. Even if a member of the Bureau or a separate group demands to call a meeting, it must be held if arguments are strong. In addition, this is party arithmetic, so what if the party is undergoing a historical crisis? It is clear that the internal situation is more unpleasant, meaningless and stagnant. This may not last long.

Nevertheless, the ARF should not be upset and fall into despair. That would be silly. We have seen worst times. Importantly, we will work it out guys.
