Veterans on Threat to Stability

    • Country - Monday, 09 July 2012, 12:41

100 veterans of Artsakh war called on Serzh Sargsyan not to allow Bako Sahakyan to use administrative resources and other illegal methods in the upcoming presidential election. The veterans warned that this may threaten Karabakh’s stability.

Stability is the main political argument of Bako Sahakyan in the fight with his opponents. For the sake of stability, the country’s people, living in a half-frozen war, are ready to shut an eye on the fact that the economy is closed to them, that no one can do business, no one can get a job in public administration bodies or take a loan from banks. A lot of people live in a world created by the television of Artsakh made by Bako Sahakyan’s classmate Norek Gasparyan.

What threat may the use of administrative resources in Artsakh bring? 100 war veterans is a huge force, and they stated that they are not going to tolerate the visits of agents of security services who whisper in the ear that talks about “bad life” and “other candidates” are manipulated by enemies who don’t want stability in Artsakh.

Once these people may spit on stability, tear off the thin iridescent fabric of Artsakh and show the true state of affairs. Therefore, the letter by veterans was not sent to Bako Sahakyan but to Serzh Sargsyan. This letter is a warning that the period of “pink stability” is over, and now Sargsyan will either declare that he is a proponent of “stability” behind the screen of which people cannot fulfill their potential or that he does not support any of the candidates.

In the first case, this will really blow up stability in Artsakh where the pink glasses and realists are already involved in a debate in social networks. At a certain moment, this may turn into a real fight. Moreover, the veterans will hardly prefer virtual life to real life.

In the second case, this may lead to a real election in Artsakh, honest elections when people will between wearing pink glasses and removing them. It is not accidental that the letter of the veterans does not call to support another candidate. They just want Serzh Sargsyan not to use his influence to hold regular “forced elections”. Let people make their own choice and if Bako Sahakyan receives more votes he will thus have the best platform to bring into being his election pledges.
