Suren Zolyan Will Appeal To Court

    • Country - Wednesday, 18 April 2012, 17:19

Today, the president of Yerevan State Linguistic University after Brusov Suren Zolyan commented on the decision of the minister to end his mandate, noting that he would not like to politicize the incident or to personalize it but the minister’s moves reveal such intentions.

Zolyan says he has worked with different governments and has worked in accordance with the law and he is the first president whose mandate is ended after one written reprimand. He disagrees with the decision.

Currently, Suren Zolyan is the acting president of the university. He meets with the students, and they are going to send a letter to the prime minister and afterwards he will appeal to court.

As to rumors that Victor Soghomonyan is the instigator of this incident, Suren Zolyan says that the spokesman for the second president is one of his best students and it is funny to think he has any relation to this incident.

He noted that the Republican Party is implementing an internal party order.

Suren Zolyan says he requested the minister to postpone this process until after the elections but the minister refused, which means that either Ashotyan is working against his party or he is sure he will not be reappointed after the elections, says Zolyan.

As to whether it is related to the prime minister's intention to join the Linguistic and Pedagogical Universities, Suren Zolyan could not confirm or deny this information.
