In September the board of the Heritage Party will discuss Raffi Hovanissian’s parliamentary mandate. Raffi Hovanissian seems to be the only person in the new parliament whose destiny is not clear.
Hovanissian is likely to run in the presidential election 2013. It is a highly responsible step because even if we assume that his chance to be a president is as much as the votes the Heritage Party received in the parliamentary elections, even the most improbable development should not be ruled out. Meanwhile, it will not be the fault of Armenia if Raffi Hovanissian suddenly becomes a president. Mildly speaking, the presidency of a person who finds it tough to make a decision on entering the parliament is not desirable. What will be when he will be responsible for serious decisions on the destiny of an entire state and nation?
Why do the Heritage Party and Hovanissian postpone the issue of the mandate till September? Is the reason the independence day of Armenia or are there other reasons?
Are Raffi Hovanissian and the Heritage planning to use resignation for the presidential campaign therefore they reserve the resignation until September?
But the problem is the political image, not PR. In other words, if the political image is viewed as PR, then it is just an image, neither PR, nor politics.
The example of government is the best. For the sake of PR they will put on any image but in the end they will have to falsify the election.
After the parliamentary elections Raffi Hovanissian should answer a simple question – do they enter parliament or not? Moreover, when the Heritage Party gives a positive answer to this question, Raffi Hovannisian’s answer stops being crucial and of importance to the campaign.
The society is tired of campaigns. Raffi Hovanissian should have known and felt this better because during the campaign he toured across streets and shook hands with citizens. Perhaps he should have felt from the firmness of handshakes that the citizens are tired of campaign, PR. Citizens need real politics.
What does Raffi Hovanissian have to offer to the citizen in this real political field? Perhaps, nothing for the time being, otherwise he would have laid down his mandate and done real politics.
For the time being, Raffi Hovanissian is wasting his image, gradually stepping on the mainstream of the Armenian political field for a lasting period already.
