Kim Kardashyan announced that she wants to be Mayor of Glendale in five years. The erotic or maybe also porn star thus wants to help the Armenian community.
It is commendable, indeed. And it will be really good if Kardashyan becomes Mayor of Glendale. The important thing is that it will be logical. Kardashyan as mayor will be the logical haven of erogenous mutation of the Armenian factor in the United States.
The Armenian community has always been quite strong in the U.S. There were Armenian businessmen, political figures and lobbyists. What is left of this community today? There are organizations, individuals who continue working, bring up the Armenian cause and lobbying within the U.S. government circles.
However, everything resembles inertia since time has changed. So did the world whereas the content of the Armenian factor in the U.S. is not changing and the Armenian government in this country does not pose issues which are more harmonic with the global changes.
In this sense, Kim Kardashyan seems to be the honest but final act of the Armenian factor which is gradually stripping when the U.S.-Armenian force is becoming unable to present more weighted requests in the social-political life of that country.
At the same time, Kim is honest not only in her aspiration but also in her tactics. She wants to become the Glendale Mayor in five years. In other words, Kim understands the situation and gives time to the Armenian force and factor to become adequate to modern times and new challenges, to delay the final act and restore interest towards the flirt and to become younger.
The rejuvenation of the Diaspora Armenians, not only in the methodical and thinking sense, but also in the age, is a serious issue.
The generation issue in the Diaspora is important and the Diaspora and Armenia need to be dedicated to the solution of this issue to reformulate the state and national interest and render it harmonic with the changing world process and able to work out possible scenarios to these processes, in order to be ready for each of them.
What are the Diaspora and Armenia doing in this relation? Nothing on the public plane. There is no public pan-Armenian discussion of this issue.
Armenia has set up the ministry of Diaspora which is a tour operator which holds tour visits in Armenia-Diaspora-Armenia and Diaspora-Armenia-Diaspora directions.
In his speeches to the Diaspora audience the Armenian president presents masterpieces of figures of speeches but makes no single proposal on strategic, schematic and conceptual modeling and no single initiative of national discourse on this issue.
The endless appeals to invest in homeland and assurances to guarantee the investments have no relation to the issue which is becoming urgent for the Diaspora, being directly projected on the national interest of Armenia.
Meanwhile, a pan-Armenian discussion of this question could be a proof of adequacy regarding the new world order, new realities and challenges, promoting possibly fast modernization of the Armenia-Diaspora system and enabling Kim not to take on his shoulders the weight of Glendale municipal issues for the sake of Armenia.
