The head of the Toyota Company Akio Toyoda says that he is going to visit the U.S. Congress next week to take part in hearings connected with the defects of Toyota cars which caused inconvenience for many consumers. Last week, the Toyota president stated that he was not going to go and make clarifications for the Congress. But, as we can see, Akio Toyoda was a little mistaken in calculating the correlation between his possibilities and those of the U.S. Congress. It is noteworthy that the U.S. Congress decided to deal with this incident because the activities of a private company touched upon the interest of millions of consumers. The reason perhaps is that the Congressmen become members of the Congress through such elections when the number of calculated ballots is equal to the ballots the ballot-box contains. Consequently, any question touching upon the interest of the voters worries the Congressmen because after two years, they are going to expect votes from the same voters. In Armenia, the situation is of course different. In Armenia, they do not wait for calculating the ballots, but they calculate something else and then take their mandates. Meanwhile, several shaved-headed people are sent to the electoral stations for no one to calculate anything else. So, when, say, the ArmRusGasArd decides to enhance the price for gas by nearly 40 percent, the members of the National Assembly do not care about it at all. It does not occur to them to carry out hearings to invite the head of ArmRusGasArd and to ask him questions. The Armenian National Assembly could only advise the Armenian citizens to burn dung instead of gas. JAMES HAKOBYAN
